Sergio Navarretta
Director


Sergio has been directing theatre, film and television projects for the past fifteen years. He has won a number of awards for his short subject films, including a short “En Plein Air” that was a featured Nuit Blanche piece. Sergio is proud to have directed his debut feature Looking for Angelina, which tells the true story of Angelina Napolitano, an Italian immigrant woman who murdered her abusive husband on Easter Sunday, 1911. The Colossal Failure of the Modern Relationship is Sergio’s second feature film as director.

Alessandra Piccione

Alessandra’s writing achievements have included numerous short subject films and two documentaries. Her first feature, Looking for Angelina, co-written with Frank Canino, screened at festivals around the world, won four awards of distinction including Best Feature Drama and opened theatrically in fifteen Canadian cities. Colossal, her second feature film, is a playful departure from her previous work. She currently has several screenplays in development, including co-productions with Italy and India.

Mallary Davenport
Producer


Mallary has spent a lifetime in the arts -- acting, singing and directing theatre – alongside building her longtime career in film production. She has produced eight feature films, including Jerry Ciccoritti’s The Resurrection of Tony Gitone and I’m Yours starring Rossif Sutherland. Mallary is proud to have been part of The Colossal Failure of the Modern Relationship family.

Peter Benison
Director of Photography


Peter is multi-award winning Director of Photography, with over 35 years experience shooting a variety of projects -- including television, documentaries and features -- in more than 15 countries. He counts more than 60 long-form projects to his credit, and has worked with many of the world’s top A-list talent. Peter’s honours include the Canadian Society of Cinematographers top award in both the Feature and Television categories and numerous nominations from the CSC, Leo and Gemini Awards.
 The Colossal Failure of the Modern Relationship will be his second collaboration with Director Sergio Navarretta.

Jane MacRae
Editor


Jane has spent the last decade working her magic in the editing room creating projects for CBC, TFO, CityTV, and the National Film Board. She's edited documentaries, commercial projects, and short-form pieces for digital platforms and theatrical release. Most recently, Jane made the shift to narrative filmmaking as a graduate of the prestigious Canadian Film Centre Editors’ Lab. Jane enjoys collaborating on great projects and values strong creative relationships with producers, directors, and writers.

Angelo Oddi
Composer


Angelo has been composing music for film and television for more than 20 years. He has scored features such as Looking for Angelina (also directed by Sergio Navarretta), and the animated feature Hammerboy. He has scored for television shows such as Shows such as “Fugget About It", “Baxter”, “Splatalot”, and “Sesame Street”, and his work has appeared on all of the major networks in Canada along with many across the U.S.

Nelson Ferreira
Sound Designer


Nelson has spent the past 20 years working as a Sound Editor, Supervisor and Designer on over 30 feature films including This Beautiful City, Daydream Nation, Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan. He co-founded Sound Dogs, one of the world's premier Sound Design companies and one of the world's largest online sound effects library. He still makes his home in Toronto and travels extensively, recording new and interesting sounds.

Krista Bridges

Krista has a long and impressive career as an actress in both film and television. She played Kathleen Doyle in the CBC series “The Republic of Doyle”, and has appeared in “Power Play” and “Naked Josh”. Krista played opposite Jason Patric in Narc, starred in Sara St. Onge’s Molly Maxwell, and appears opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Elizabeth Shue in House at the End of the Street.

Enrico Colantoni
(Freddy)


Enrico’s impressive career includes playing such iconic characters as: Elliot DiMauro in the NBC sitcom “Just Shoot Me!” opposite David Spade; Keith Mars on the series “Veronica Mars” opposite Kristen Bell; Sergeant Greg Parker on the CTV series “Flashpoint” and Dr. Allen Connor in the Global TV series “Remedy”. He starred in Steven Soderbergh’s Full Frontal and as Gianni Versace in House of Versace opposite Gina Gershon and he’s made regular appearances on such well-known series as The Kennedys and Person of Interest.

David Cubitt
(Richard)


Throughout his impressive career, David has been nominated for a Gemini Award four times, winning one for his work on the iconic Canadian series "Traders". David has also appeared on the American series "Robbery Homicide Division" and NBC’s “Medium” opposite Patricia Arquette. Most recently, David appears opposite Jeff Bridges in the Universal Pictures feature, Seventh Son.

Brooke Palsson
(Amy)


Brooke is a Winnipeg native and a brilliant singer/songwriter as well as a talented film and television actor. She was nominated for a Gemini Award and won a Canadian Comedy Award for her role as Miriam Goldstein on the long running HBO Canada series “Less Than Kind”. She appeared in the hit series “Flashpoint” and “Saving Hope" and starred in the Guy Maddin film Keyhole opposite Jason Patric.

Kristina Nicoll
(Heddy)


Kristina is a Dora Award-winning actress, a 25-year veteran of the stage and screen and the recipient of the Christopher Plummer International Fellowship for Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London. She is also an accomplished director and former assistant artistic director for Toronto’s Terragon Theatre.

Tony Nappo
(Darren)


Tony is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. He has appeared in numerous television shows and many films, including Jerry Ciccoritti’s The Resurrection of Tony Gitone and Saw II opposite Donnie Wahlberg. Tony also has a vibrant stage career, and frequently stars in award winning productions across the country, including Mirvish Theatre’s “God of Carnage” in 2014.

Alvaro D’Antonio
(Max)


Alvaro is a veteran actor and has worked in North America, Europe and Asia. He was part of New York City’s “La Mama” Theatre Troupe from 1995-1997 and has appeared in numerous films, including: Jerry Ciccoriti’s The Resurrection of Tony Gitone; Homie Spumoni opposite Whoopi Goldberg and Sergio Navarretta’s Looking for Angelina. When he is not acting, Alvaro is an avid wine enthusiast and engages in wine-making on a competitive level.
